Gene - π digital PCR School: transformation and application of digital PCR methodology in nucleic acid absolute quantification (Hangzhou station)



On September 9, 2020, Gene-π Digital PCR Learning Course-Digital PCR Methodology Conversion and Application in the Absolute Quantification of Nucleic Acid (Hangzhou Station) was successfully held at Westlake University. This training camp combines theory and practice, focusing on the next-generation digital PCR technology, and carried out the training of experimental operations, result analysis, digital PCR methodology conversion and application in absolute quantification of nucleic acids, liquid biopsy, and standard quantitative application case analysis, etc. which was well received by the students.

In order to let the majority of clinical and scientific research workers understand the digital PCR technology better, this training camp introduced the next-generation digital PCR technology and the Naica™ crystal digital PCR system. It also includes the application of digital PCR in the absolute quantification of nucleic acids, method conversion of digital PCR in quantitative detection of nucleic acid standards, analysis of digital PCR results, etc. At the same time, on-site experimental operations were displayed.


The birth and development of digital PCR technology has provided new ideas for accurate quantification of nucleic acids and genetic testing. It has shown good prospects for application in many fields such as medicine, environment, food detection and other fields, especially in medicine, such as molecular diagnosis of pathogenic microorganisms, tumor liquid biopsy, organ transplantation injury assessment, non-invasive prenatal testing, and quality control and results validation of NGS, etc. The quality control system is crucial in the research of advanced therapy such as cell therapy, gene therapy and immunotherapy, and the absolute quantification of target nucleic acids helps to quantify the indicators intuitively and effectively, which was well received by the participants.
