The birth and development of digital PCR technology has provided new ideas for accurate quantification of nucleic acids and genetic testing, and has shown good application prospects in many fields such as medicine, environment and food testing, especially in medicine, such as molecular diagnosis of pathogenic microorganisms. , Tumor liquid biopsy, organ transplant damage assessment, non-invasive prenatal screening, quality control and result verification of second-generation sequencing libraries.
Digital PCR obtains the absolute copy number of the target gene through Poisson distribution correction, which can provide more accurate nucleic acid quantification than qPCR. It does not rely on standard curves and reference samples, and directly detects the copy number of the target sequence. It has the advantages of good sensitivity, high accuracy, and high resistance to inhibitors. This technology is currently the most suitable method for the detection of trace nucleic acid markers in body fluid samples (e.g. blood, urine, stool, sputum, pleural and ascites, cerebrospinal fluid, etc.). The specific detection of multi-fluorescence channels and the rapid acquisition of detection results can obtain more information when the amount of biological samples is limited, and significantly improve detection capabilities and work efficiency.
To better enable scholars to understand digital PCR, the Gene-π Digital PCR Learning Center-Digital PCR Basic Training, Application Extension and System Development (Shenzhen Station) will be held in Shenzhen on November 13, 2020. The training camp will invite senior technical experts to talk about the third-generation digital PCR technology detailed explanation, experimental operation, result analysis, digital PCR methodological conversion and application in the absolute quantification of nucleic acid, and application in the field of COVID-19 detection.
